Blood Tells

When the hammer falls,
like the lost will of god,
mortals cower
and quake
at the sound of metal on metal
and the screams of a man.

When the vivisectionist’s blade bisects
the heart,
in a final pumping of blood,
agony,
and life,
futures are told,
and secrets are no more.

Love seldoms survives truth
or daylight,
whispers by moonlight,
or promises lightly made.
Dishonesty demands gold
changing hands;
every soul has a price!

Flesh is vulnerable,
bones too easily broken,
and blood always flows the line!
Existence is fleeting,
and all are denied the future.

The only answer
to screaming into the void
are the echoes of our own cries.
All meaning is lost.

Flesh is vulnerable,
bones too easily broken,
and blood always flows the line!
Existence is fleeting,
and all are promised a future
of dust.

Our saviors always bleed
for those of lesser blood,
and the hammer falls
hardest on the blameless.
